Karama – Owner Khadija Moga

Khadija moved to MLK area of Southeast Seattle fourteen years ago because she liked the diversity of businesses, convenient location and easy commute to her job on First Hill. As her family grew she decided to open a small grocery near her home a situation that allowed her to have her children with her while she worked. Less than two years ago Khadija saw an opportunity to expand her entrepreneurial endeavors and open a Somali restaurant adjacent to her grocery and named it Karama.

At Karama you will find traditional Somali food that can be described as African flavors with an Italian influence.  Khadija was thrilled to learn about the Plate of Nations program because she wants to promote her business, develop her presence in the community and share her love of Somali food with a broader audience.
